Printing designs onto t-shirts
MAKE A STATEMENT WITH EVERY WEAR – PRINT YOUR DESIGNS ON A T-SHIRT
Deliverables
- Design: The first step is to create the design you want to print onto the t-shirt. This can be done using software like Adobe Illustrator or by drawing it by hand.
- Screen preparation: The design is then printed onto a piece of film and the screen is coated with a light-sensitive emulsion. The film is placed on top of the emulsion-coated screen and exposed to light, which hardens the emulsion in the areas not covered by the design.
- Washing and drying: The screen is washed with water, which removes the emulsion in the areas where the design was printed on the film. The screen is then dried.
- Ink preparation: The ink is then mixed according to the desired color and consistency.
- Printing: The t-shirt is placed on a flat surface and the screen is placed on top of it. Ink is poured onto the screen and a squeegee is used to spread the ink across the design, transferring it onto the fabric. This process is repeated for each color in the design.
- Curing: Once the design is printed onto the t-shirt, it is cured using heat to ensure the ink adheres properly to the fabric.
